SIX YEARS OF JOURNEY IN ABU DHABI, AND COUNTING ...

Last 18 February I celebrated my 6th year anniversary living and working in Abu Dhabi, UAE (wooot woo).  Well, I could say that it is nice to stay in a city dubbed as the “richest city in the world” by Fortune Magazine and CNN. Here you could find all types of expensive cars, hotels and restaurants, international brands, cheap electronic items, petrol and electricity and its tax free.
Just for your information, Abu Dhabi is the capital of United Arab Emirates. There are 7 emirates in UAE which are Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Sharjah, Umm Al Quain and Ajman. Last year (2011), UAE celebrated its 40th year of independence and unity.

During the past 6 years, I am grateful to God for His guidance and abundant blessings in my life. I never imagined myself living far from my family and working in a foreign soil.  Although I felt lonely and alone at first, but God has revealed Himself to me in a personal way. I know God eversince, but not on a deeper level.  My mom is a religious woman, she often shared her struggles and victory over problems with the help of the Almighty, while raising 8 kids (imagine?). Looking back, I believe that all things work together for good, for our good. Everything that happened in my life have their purpose and reason although it made me feel sad, angry or happy at first, but in the end it goes all well. God has guided me to the proper people and situation in order to overcome challenges and make me a strong person.  I know he loves me and cares for me.

I am also grateful for the support of my family, for their understanding and unending prayer. They are the "first" reason why I decided to come here in Abu Dhabi. I want them to experience an abundant life (but God has many other plans for me). I know that their prayers are with me and their love reaches me wherever I am. That is what makes me go on as well.

I am thankful to all the people I met and friends I gain that taught me a lot of things. They made my life here in Abu Dhabi enjoyable and full of good memories. They are my second family away from home.

My heart is filled with gratitude most especially to God, my family, friends, relatives etc. They made me the person I am today.

Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

God bless us more,

psyche
