I Will Boast

A Christian song by Paul Baloche. The lyrics are taken from Jeremiah 9:23-24 where the prophet Jeremiah declares what the Lord says to the people of Israel in His judgement of them. In His judgement, He declares that instead of people boasting in their wisdom and riches which has led to their sinning against Him, they should boast in their understanding of God who exercises and delights in kindness, justice and righteousness.

And God has exercised these qualities in sending His Son Jesus to die for our sins on the cross - Kindness by salvation to the undeserving through Jesus, justice by judging sin once and for all through Jesus' death, and righteousness by the sinnless life Jesus lived which is imputed unto those who believe, that we may have a relationship with God. And we boast in our understanding of His salvation plan through Jesus. Indeed we will boast in the Lord our God, and Christ, who are worthy!
