Saviour, Like A Shepherd Lead Us

A Christian hymn by Dorothy A. Thrupp. The lyrics speak of Jesus our Shepherd, who takes care of us His flock - by redeeming us with His blood, hearing us when we pray, and loving us unconditionally. There are many passages in the Bible that refer to the Lord as our Shepherd, and Psalm 23 in particular echoes how He takes care of His people, even amidst trying and uncertain times.

Indeed the imagery of Jesus being our Shepherd is apt, for He looks after us and has even given His life for us. This Easter, we remember Jesus, the Good Shepherd's death and resurrection. And we thank Him for all He has done in laying down His life for us, and for being raised to life, in order that we might live and serve a risen and living Saviour. Blessed Jesus, Thou has bought us, Thine we are!
