When I Survey The Wondrous Cross

A classic Christian hymn by Isaac Watts. The lyrics speak of our rightful response when we consider the cross and all that Jesus has done for us. All our gains are counted as loss before Him and we gladly sacrifice all our worldy possessions for His sake (Philippians 3:7-9). We offer up our lives for Him (Romans 12:1), for He had willingly offered His for ours.

Indeed when we survey the wondrous cross, we have no other response but to be confronted by our sin which nailed Him to the cross. But in His sacrifice for us, He has freely forgiven us our sin and showered us with His gracious love that we might now be called His own. Thank You Jesus for all that You've done for us!
