By Faith

A Christian song by Keith & Kristyn Getty. The lyrics follow the familiar passage in Hebrews 11 that speaks about what faith is, and how the fathers of old were commended for their faith. By faith they believed in God, acted righteously, and obeyed God - and thus witness many miraculous things though God grace. But while these were the great fathers of faith, Hebrews 11:39-40 makes it clear that they had yet to receive what they had been promised, since God had planned something better for us.

And Hebrews 12:1-3 tells us of this promise that we have received and should continue persevering in fixing our eyes on - Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. So let us persevere in faith until the race is finished and the work is done, walking by faith in Jesus and not by sight!
