We Are

A Christian song by Kari Jobe. The lyrics speak of Christians being the light of the world and the city on a hill, that we may be a strong witness for our God to those who still do not know Him. In Matthew 5:16-18, in Jesus' Sermon on the Mount discourse, He tells His disciples of the same analogy. The light and city on a hill cannot be hidden. Instead, it is to be shone before others so that they may see our good deeds and glorify God.

This is a commission that Jesus has left us with - To be the light of the world, and to let our light shine so that others may come to know who God is and glorify Him. Oh God help us to be faithful witnesses for You in a dark world. Help us to point others to Jesus Christ, the Light of the world, that all who believe in Him may have life everlasting and a restored relationship with God once again.
