How Deep The Father's Love For Us

A Christian song by Stuart Townend. The lyrics speak of how deep the Father's love for us, in giving us His only Son Jesus, who took away our sins when He died on the cross for us.

Matthew 27:45-54 gives the account of Jesus' final moments on the cross. It was on the cross that He was forsaken by God His Father, who turned His face away from Him because of all the sin that was laid upon Him. Such was the agony that Christ faced, of being cut off from His own Father. And such was the agony that the Father faced when His wrath was let loose upon His only Son. And this was all done in order that we might be saved from our sins, and that His glory might be revealed. Indeed, how deep the Father's love for us, how vast beyond all measure!
